Water is Stronger

Water flows through everything,

It cuts deeper than a knife.

It corrodes metals,

And links life.

It carries minerals,

It carries life.

What does it do to blood?

Blood is thicker than water,

It seeps, it flows,

But in water, it dissolves.

In water, blood liquefies.

Blood is diluted,

Water breaks down Blood.

Water is the basis for blood,

But too much water destroys it.

Therefore, which is stronger?

So, when people say blood is thicker than water,

Doesn’t mean it’s stronger.

Water is what binds us, not blood.

Therefore, since we are water,

My closest friends are my family, too.

I choose to identify with what is common within us,

Not what separates us.

My blood signifies where I come from,

Not who I am.
